Scoop Dog technician scooping dog waste in a clean Ottawa backyard

Yard chores always lose.

Between work, family, and everything else, scooping the yard and mowing the lawn slide to the bottom of the list every single week. Maybe your schedule is brutal. Maybe your knees are. Maybe you just don't want to do it — which is a perfectly good reason.

So let us take both off your plate. We clean up first, then mow, in the same visit. Your outdoor space stays safe, healthy, and actually usable — and you stop choosing between a tidy lawn and a clean yard.

How often should dog waste removal happen?

Most Ottawa yards land on weekly or bi-weekly. It depends on your dogs and your yard.

Bi-Weekly

Every two weeks. Works well for one lighter dog, or a large yard where waste spreads out instead of piling up.

from $40 / visit

One-Time

A single catch-up. Company's coming, you're listing the house, or the yard simply got away from you this month.

Spring Clean-Up

The big one. A winter's worth of waste emerges from under the melting snow all at once — a much heavier job than a normal catch-up.

from $160

One visit. Two services. Zero stress.

Since we're already in your yard, we'll line your mowing schedule up with your scooping schedule — weekly upkeep, seasonal clean-ups, or a one-time refresh.

Dog Waste Removal

The main event. We clear every area of your yard with a waste issue — grass, flower beds, rocks, mulch — then bag it and leave it in your bin. You get a photo of the closed gate on your phone before we've left the street.

We do not haul away. Waste goes in your trash can. That's a big part of what keeps the rate low.

Odour Removal

Scooping removes the waste. It doesn't always remove the smell — especially in August. We treat the yard with "EZ Clean", a Canadian-made, non-toxic deodorizer that's safe around pets and kids.

Lawn Mowing

Here's the thing no other scooper in Ottawa will do: we scoop first, then mow. Same visit, same crew.

Lawn companies skip yards over dog mess all the time. That never happens to you, because the mess is gone before the mower starts. No dog? We'll still cut your grass.

Leaf Clean-Up

Autumn in this industry is known as poop camouflage season. We can only pick up what we can see, and a deep leaf layer hides a startling amount.

Clearing the leaves keeps your scoops thorough all fall and makes the spring clean-up dramatically smaller.

We don't haul leaves away. They're bagged in yard-waste bags and left on your property.

Quick answers

The five we get asked most. The full FAQ is here →

How do you dispose of the dog waste?

We do not haul away.

We bag the waste and place it in your trash can, or neatly outside your garage. Keeping it on-site is part of what keeps the rate where it is.

Do I have to be home when you clean?

No. We just need easy access to your gate. When we're done, we text you a photo of the waste location and the closed gate, so you have a record of every visit.

Do you work in the winter?

Yes — year-round, every area we serve. Most waste that accumulates on snow is still perfectly scoopable.

If a heavy snowfall or downpour means we genuinely can't find it, we skip that day and come back on your next scheduled service day, at no extra charge.

Do I have to sign a contract?

No contracts. Start, pause, and cancel any time by emailing info@scoopdog.ca or calling 613-400-4040. No cancellation fee, no notice period.

How much does it cost?

Weekly service starts at $30 a visit for 1–2 dogs. Bi-weekly starts at $40. One-time clean-ups start at $100, spring clean-ups at $160.

Prices cover one yard area; extra areas are $10 each. See the full price list →
