Keep your yard spotless and your neighbours jealous — choose Blackburn Hamlet’s #1 Dog Waste Removal Service!
Weekly, bi-weekly and one-time dog poop scooping in Blackburn Hamlet. No contracts. Cancel any time.
Scoop Dog is Blackburn Hamlet’s go-to dog waste removal service in Ottawa. The Hamlet has a village feel that the rest of the east end does not — a tight, walkable pocket ringed by the Greenbelt, where you actually know your neighbours and half the street has a dog.
Which is lovely, right up until you have walked the Greenbelt trails all morning and still have to face the back lawn. We take that part off your list. Same day every week, gate closed behind us, photo sent when we are done.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do you dispose of the dog waste?
WE DO NOT HAUL AWAY. We bag the waste and place it in your trash can, or set it neatly outside your garage.
What time will you be at my home?
We can’t give an exact timeframe on your scoop day. We have many yards to clean and our routes are constantly optimized for efficiency — which is what keeps your rate low. Routes run from around 7am to dark.
You’ll always get a text when we’re on the way, with about 5 to 30 minutes notice. Your scoop day is the same day each week, and if it ever changes we’ll tell you in advance.
Do I have to be home when you clean?
No. We simply ask for easy access to your gate. Once we’re done, we send a photo of the waste location and your closed gate to your phone, so you have a record of it.
Is there an extra charge for the first time?
Yes. First clean billings include a one-time $10 charge to get you set up in the system, on the routes, and to cover the extra time for accumulated waste. Only applies to weekly and bi-weekly clients.
If you sign up during Spring Rush (March–April), that initial charge may be higher.
Does Scoop Dog clean the entire yard?
We clean any area of your property with a dog waste issue — flower beds, rock, mulch and more. Note that one area is included in the price. An additional area, such as the front yard, costs an additional $10.
Can you clean with my dog in the yard?
We love dogs, and most of the time we all get along. But some dogs won’t let a tech into the yard, and some are doing their job protecting the property. We respect that we’re entering their world.
You’ll know your service day, so you can leave your dog inside. We also text when we’re on the way so you have a few minutes to secure them. We don’t take unnecessary risks with your dog or our people.
Do you do lawn mowing?
Yes! We can cut your grass and scoop your poop on the same visit. And if you don’t have a dog, we’ll happily just cut the grass.
Do you provide services all year round?
Yes. Scoop Dog provides dog waste removal year-round at all of our locations. Even in winter, we still show up. In snow, most of the waste that accumulates is still scoopable.
Do I have to sign a contract?
No contracts. You can start, pause and cancel your subscription at any time by emailing or calling us.
Do you disinfect your equipment?
Yes. We disinfect our equipment after each cleanup with “Prevail”, an organic, kennel-grade disinfectant, to prevent the spread of germs.
What is my responsibility as a client?
1. Your yard must be easily accessible.
2. Lawns should be cut regularly and clear of heavy leaves or debris — we can only pick up what we can see.
3. Gates should be unlocked and free of snow and ice. If you give us a gate code, we always lock up when we leave.
4. Dogs should be indoors on service days. We text when we’re on the way.
5. If you don’t need a service, tell us when your reminder text arrives 24 hours before.
