Lawn Care · Ottawa

The lawn company
that won't skip your yard.

Mowing crews bail on properties with dog mess — every Ottawa dog owner has had it happen. We scoop first, then mow, on the same visit. There's nothing left to bail on.

Don't have a dog? We'll still cut your grass.

Scoop Dog crew member mowing a back yard lawn in Ottawa with a gas lawn mower

Scoop first. Mow second.

It sounds obvious. Nobody else in Ottawa does it.

A normal lawn company

  • Arrives, sees dog mess, skips the yard
  • Or mows anyway and sprays it across the lawn
  • You're left scooping before they arrive
  • Two vendors, two schedules, two invoices

Scoop Dog

  • We clear the waste first — it's literally our name
  • Then we cut, on a clean lawn, properly
  • You do nothing
  • One crew, one visit, one bill

How often should we cut?

We tailor the schedule to your lawn — no unnecessary trims. Sun and moisture decide, not the calendar.

Bi-Weekly

Every two weeks. Plenty for a shadier lawn or a slower-growing stretch of summer.

Monthly

For lawns that genuinely don't need more — and we'll tell you if yours doesn't.

One-Time

A single cut. Selling, hosting, or the lawn simply got ahead of you.

How pricing works

No calculator, because a calculator would be guessing. Here's the actual basis.

1

We price on square footage

Total grass area on your property, front and back. That's the number that determines what a cut costs — not a dropdown menu.

2

Layout matters

Properties with heavy obstructions, tight gates, steep slopes, or awkward layouts take longer, so pricing is adjusted to match.

3

The quote is free and fast

Fill out the form. We'll come back with a firm price per cut and a monthly estimate — no obligation, no card.

One thing to know before you book

If your grass is longer than 20cm when we arrive, there's an additional fee. Overgrown grass is a fundamentally different job — it clogs the deck, needs multiple passes, and leaves heavy clippings behind. We'd rather tell you that up front than surprise you on the invoice.

If your lawn is currently well past that, book a one-time cut first, then start a regular schedule at the normal rate.

Our lawn care services

Bundle any of these into one visit. One crew, one bill, one truck in the driveway.

Lawn Mowing

Reliable, consistent cuts on a schedule that suits your lawn rather than our route sheet.

We cut at 3–4 inches, deliberately. Taller grass shades its own roots, locks in moisture through a heatwave, and smothers weeds before they establish. Scalping a lawn short in July is how you end up with a brown one in August.

Crew trimming and edging a lawn with a line trimmer beside a mower in a back yard Included

Trimming & Edging

Line trimming against driveways, sidewalks, fences, and hardscape is included in the basic mow — not an upsell.

We edge around flower beds, trees, and walkways, then clear clippings off the hard surfaces so the finish is crisp instead of merely cut.

Fallen crab apples scattered across grass and leaves in an Ottawa yard Late summer – fall

Crab Apple Clean-Up

Fallen crab apples stain patios, attract wasps and rodents, turn walkways slick, and jam a mower deck solid.

We collect and clear them out of lawns and garden beds before any of that happens. Not many crews will touch this one.

Leaf Clean-Up

We clear leaves, debris, and twigs so the yard goes into winter clean — which makes the spring clean-up dramatically smaller.

We don't haul leaves away. They're bagged in yard-waste bags and left on your property.

Mulch Bed Refreshing

We top up and level the mulch in your garden beds. It holds moisture, suppresses weeds, and it's the single fastest way to make a whole property look maintained.

What every cut includes

No line items, no surprises. This is the standard visit.

Cut at 3–4 inches

The height that keeps roots shaded, moisture locked in, and weeds suppressed.

Line trimming

Against driveways, sidewalks, fences, and hardscape. Included, not extra.

Edging

Around flower beds, trees, and walkways for a crisp, finished border.

Clippings cleared

Blown off walkways, driveways, and hard surfaces so nothing gets tracked inside.

You don't need to be home

Just clear any debris and keep pets indoors. We handle the rest while you get on with your day.

Scooping first, if you want it

The dog mess goes before the mower starts. That's the whole reason we exist.

Lawn care questions

The mowing-specific ones. Our full FAQ is here →

How is the price determined?

Pricing is based on the total square footage of grass on your property.

Properties with significant obstructions or challenging layouts may be adjusted — a lawn broken up by beds, trees, slopes, and tight gates takes considerably longer than an open rectangle of the same size.

The quote is free. Send us your address and we'll come back with a firm number.

What if my grass is really long?

Grass longer than 20cm carries an additional fee.

An overgrown lawn is a genuinely different job: it clogs the deck, needs multiple passes, and leaves heavy clippings behind. If yours is well past that right now, book a one-time cut to reset it, then start a regular schedule at the normal rate.

What day will you mow my lawn?

We cut grass on Wednesdays at this time.

If you're also on a scooping schedule, we'll line the two up so it's a single visit.

What happens if it rains on my mowing day?

We reschedule you automatically to the next available day — which may end up being the weekend. You don't need to call us or do anything.

Cutting wet grass tears it rather than slicing it, clumps the clippings, and leaves ruts. It's not worth doing badly to hit a date.

Do you offer weed whacking?

Yes, and it's included. Our basic mowing service uses a line trimmer against the driveway, sidewalks, and hardscape as standard. It isn't a separate charge.

Do I need to be home?

No. We're here to make your life simpler, not to add an appointment to it.

Just clear any debris from the lawn and keep pets safely indoors on service day. Leave the rest to us.

What frequencies do you offer?

Weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and one-time.

We'll recommend what your lawn actually needs based on sunlight and moisture — we're not going to sell you a weekly cut for a lawn that grows like it's on a monthly schedule.

Do you mow for people without dogs?

Of course. The dog thing is what makes us different, not a requirement. If you just want your grass cut, we'll cut your grass.

What areas do you service?

We currently offer lawn care to clients within Ottawa city limits. If you're not sure whether you're inside the line, just ask.
